Our Philosophy

Kaplan Trucking has been a leader in flatbed transportation since 1914. Back then, Ed Kaplan used a horse-drawn wagon as his first flatbed carrier, loading telephone directories and delivering them throughout the Cleveland area. Nineteen years later, his business in flatbed transportation became incorporated, and Kaplan Trucking was granted one of the first operating authorities in the United States (ICC MC-2304).

Today, as a flatbed carrier, Kaplan operates more than 600 trucks and 70 terminals located throughout the eastern United States. And since our modest beginnings in flatbed transportation over 70 years ago, the Kaplan operating philosophy has remained simple and steadfast: Take Good Care of Our Customers.
